If you’re a Pokemon fan, then you must know that not all Pokemons are created equal. Some stand out above the rest while others…well, they don’t. In this article, we’ll be taking a look at the 10 worst Pokemon of all time and why they so utterly fail to live up to the rest. So if you’re curious to see which one’s make the cut, read on to find out!
-Top 10 Worst Pokemon of All Time
1. Magikarp:
Magikarp is often considered the weakest and most useless Pokémon of all, due to its pathetic stats and complete lack of offensive moves. It takes a whopping 400 Magikarp candy to evolve it into the much more powerful Gyarados, making it one of the slowest Pokémon to power up.
2. Caterpie:
Like Magikarp, Caterpie is incredibly weak and takes a long time to evolve. However, even its final form – Butterfree – isn’t all that great, with low stats across the board. As a result, Caterpie is often considered one of the worst starters in the entire series.
3. Metapod:
Metapod is pretty much just an evolution filler; it serves no purpose other than to act as a stepping stone on the way to Butterfree. Its signature move, Harden, only serves to raise its Defense stat slightly, which isn’t particularly useful in most situations.
4. Kakuna:
Kakuna is basically just another evolution filler Pokémon, again serving no purpose other than acting as a stepping stone towards its final form – Beedrill. While Beedrill is actually a fairly decent Pokémon, Kakuna itself is completely worthless in battle.
5. Weedle:
Weedle has consistently been regarded as one of the worst Pokémon ever since its debut in Generation I. It’s insanely weak and takes far
1. Unown
If you think this is unfair, then you haven’t seen Unown. This is a Pokémon that’s so terrible, it doesn’t even deserve the title of “Pokémon.” It’s a completely useless creature that can only use one move, and that move isn’t even very effective.
Even if you manage to catch one of these things, there’s not much you can do with it. You can’t evolve it, you can’t teach it any new moves, and it’s not particularly strong or hardy. In short, it’s totally useless. So why does it exist? We have no idea.
2. Contest Catcher
Contest Catcher is one of the worst Pokemon games out there. It’s repetitive, has terrible graphics, and is just overall a bad game.
3. Kecleon
Some people might not even know what a Kecleon is – and that’s part of its design flaw. As a chameleon-like creature, it’s supposed to be stealthy and hard to spot. However, its bright green body and red stripes make it anything but inconspicuous. Not only that, but Kecleon has several other design flaws. For one, its ability “Color Change” is completely wasted since it changes its color based on the type of move used on it, which any opponent can easily figure out. Plus, its attacks are all Normal-type moves, which are not effective against many Pokemon. In short, Kecleon is just a bad Pokemon all around.
4. Minglee
While some people may find Minglee the cutest thing ever, others will find her irritating and just want her to stop talking. She’s not a bad Pokemon by any means – in fact, she’s pretty good. However, her incessant chatter can be quite grating after a while.
5. Mr. Mime
Mr. Mime is often considered one of the worst Pokémon because of its limited movepool, low stats, and lack of usefulness in battle. However, Mr. Mime does have a few redeeming qualities. For one, it has the ability Soundproof, which allows it to nullify sound-based moves like Supersonic and Screech. Additionally, Mr. Mime can learn a wide variety of support moves, such as Light Screen and Reflect, which can be useful in team battles. Overall, Mr. Mime is not a particularly strong or useful Pokémon, but it can be helpful in certain situations.
6. Ditto
Ditto is a highly underrated Pokemon. On the surface, it may not seem like much. It’s a small, purple, amorphous blob with a single eye. However, Ditto has a number of unique and powerful abilities that make it one of the most versatile Pokemon in the games.
First, Ditto can transform into any other Pokemon. This makes it invaluable for taking on Gym Leaders and Elite Four members whose teams are full of pokemon that you’re not familiar with. Ditto can also be used to quickly and easily catch rare and powerful pokemon. Simply have Ditto transform into the desired pokemon, and then throw a Poke Ball at it.
Second, Ditto has the ability Imposter. This allows it to transform into its opponent in battle, copying all of their stats and moves. This can be incredibly useful for taking down difficult opponents.
Third, Ditto is almost impossible to defeat in a battle thanks to its excellent typing and movepool. It is immune to Normal-type moves, and resistant to Fighting-, Psychic-, and Ghost-type moves. Additionally, Ditto knows a wide variety of moves that allow it to deal with most types of opponents.
Overall, Ditto is an incredibly versatile and powerful pokemon that should not be underestimated. If you’re looking for a pokemon that can take on anything, look no further than Ditto!
7. Voltorb
Though Voltorb looks like a Poké Ball, it is actually a dangerous Pokémon. If you come across one in the wild, be sure to flee immediately! Voltorb is known to explode without warning, and its explosion is powerful enough to take down a building.
8. Ledyba
Ledyba is one of the worst pokemon for a few reasons. First, its design is absolutely terrible. Ledyba looks like a cross between a ladybug and a monkey, and it’s just not very appealing. Second, its stats are very poor. Ledyba has low HP, attack, and defense, and its only redeeming stat is speed. However, even that isn’t enough to save Ledyba, as it is outclassed by many other pokemon in the speed department. Third, Ledyba has a very weak movepool. Its only decent moves are Bug Buzz and Thunder Wave, and it doesn’t learn any good moves until late in its evolution line. Lastly, Ledyba is just plain annoying. It’s always crying and making noise, and it’s just not fun to be around. If you’re looking for a bad pokemon, Ledyba is definitely one of the worst.
9. Alakazam 10. Bonsly
Assuming you are referring to the original 151 Pokémon:
10. Bonsly – This little rock type was introduced in the Sinnoh region and is based on the Japanese bonsai tree. It’s evolution, Sudowoodo, is infamous for being a Pokémon that is difficult to evolve due to its high level before it will evolve (level 38). Bonsly has a low base stat total of 290 which includes poor stats such as 25 attack, 20 defense, 65 special attack, and 65 special defense. Bonsly is also one of two baby Pokémon that can’t breed.
