ANTHOLOGY OF GOLF BAYS SHORT STORIES
Topgolf is a golfing venue where players hit balls at targets from bays spaced around a 215-yard outfield. Microchips are embedded in the golf balls so that scores may be kept easily. Wearing flats or whatever is most convenient is OK; golf shoes aren’t required.

On Wednesday, Topgolf Nashville International Inc. unveiled renderings of its upcoming Nashville entertainment complex and disclosed that it would have a concert hall.

The anticipated opening of a Topgolf venue in Nashville has garnered a lot of attention, both as a symbol of the city’s growing prominence on the national stage and as a catalyst for more, long-awaited development on the east bank of the Cumberland River, opposite downtown and Germantown.
SCHEDULED
Topgolf is scheduled to debut in the first quarter of 2017, after construction on the $20 million facility at 306 Cowan St. began earlier this year. The total square footage of the building is planned to be 65,000, with an extra 7,900 square feet dedicated to a concert hall.
In an effort to cash in on Nashville’s thriving music industry, Topgolf Nashville is pulling out all the stops. Topgolf has hired Tim McGraw’s manager, Nick Cue, as a consultant. A traditional Topgolf includes a basement lounge utilized as a gaming room, but the Nashville location will have an extra bar linked to the performance arena.
CAPACITY
Standing room capacity is 500, and the venue’s two VIP sections can accommodate an additional 101 people. Topgolf said in a statement that the aim of its architects, Aria Group, is to create “an upmarket industrial image.”
GROWING THE GAME AT TOPGOLF

Roughly 12.2 million golfers adopted the game in both regions.

Topgolf’s success has led to 74 locations worldwide, including 67 in the U.S. This increase isn’t decreasing. Topgolf has nine more locations under development, including St. Petersburg, Fla., Colorado Springs, Colo., and Baltimore.
MILESTONE
One will be a corporate milestone. Topgolf El Segundo will open next to a nine-hole executive golf course it manages. It’s one of two LA facilities opening in 2022. Real grass and golf holes are coming to Topgolf.
